(L to R – Mon, Patricia, Me, Nicole, Denise, and Eri)

The Pangkor Girls are reuniting in less than 2 weeks for our dear Eri’s wedding! Yep, she’s going to be Mrs. Nick North on Nov. 24, 2006 (not sure if she’s hyphenating or taking on North in full-effect, will have to check on that…). Actually, Eri and Nick have been in town for about 3 weeks already, juggling wedding planning with her mom and working on their incredible online zine, Firecracker amidst the frenzy. It’s been nice because the 4 of us (Eri, Nick, Jay, and I) have been working on a project together (and consequently getting to know each other’s S/O) . We’ll keep you posted once it’s completed, but it’s exciting stuff, and yes, it has to do with Pinoy (indie) cinema. 🙂

Back to the Pangkor Girls reunion.

The last time we were all together was in January of this year. The picture above was taken at The Farm at San Benito, where we likely annoyed a lot of people trying to get their r&r because we were so loud in the dining room area.. and the waiting area… and the pathways… but that’s what you get when you stick all of us in one room after we haven’t seen each other in awhile. I love having girlfriends that I can depend on no matter what’s happening in my life and no matter how crappy I feel or things can get. All of them are keepers and I’m really excited that we’re all getting a chance to witness each other grow into these new, challenging, rewarding, beautiful, and growth-filled phases in our lives.

For those who don’t know (and a long story short) the Pangkor Girls (and our respective brothers) were thrown together for 4 days on the Malaysian island, Pangkor (our families were based in Singapore at the time). Hence the name. We didn’t know each other very well before the trip but after that Christmas family vacay, we were pretty much inseparable and have been steadfast friends since.

So back to Eri’s wedding… I fitted my sponsor’s gown yesterday at her place (made by the delightful Dennis Martin) and it was absolutely lovely and more important… it FIT! But I certainly can’t eat anymore before Eri’s Big Day because believe you me, Dennis could barely zip me up in that thing. I can’t wait to see Eri in her gown. And Nick in his barong.

Like Jay said… I signed with Michi Calica (designer) yesterday! But I’ll blog more about that later on tonight. For now, it’s back to work!
